About two years ago while driving through the country side of Jim Falls, Wisc. I passed an old barn. I imagined a barn owl large enough to carry off the entire barn - what the owl's motivation was still "up in the air". To begin this illustration I started by determining the camera angle and scale of the owl using a 3D modeling software called Strata. I then used Photoshop to build the image and the textures from bits and pieces of online photos. The final image would lend itself to a double page spread with room for some text as a taste of a potential storyline.
