Over the last few days I've added the painted touches to mask two. The photos below show the progression from the previous post from Feb. 1. First, I covered the paper mache structure with some leftover yellow interior house paint (with a little help from Corgan.) Second, blue gouache added as a wash into the creased areas and towards the bottom. Third, I added a red wash of gouache. Wiping away areas with a paper towel. Fourth, yellow was added to the flame areas. Finally, I added white as a highlight to the flame tops and edges. Then the details were added to the eyes and a piece of blue nylon was glued to the inside so the person wearing the mask was not visible.
